Turkey 2016

Hello there readers!!

This month saw me take the first holiday away with all of Rob's family and we set off to Turkey on the 9th July for a two week adventure to Ovacik in Turkey and what a wonderful two weeks it was. Just a warning for you, this post is very photo heavy!

We set off for Manchester Airport at around 8am on the first Saturday and arrived at our hotel at 9:30pm (Turkish time) in just in time to catch the rest of tea. Our flight was around 4 hours long and then it was an hour and half coach ride (thankfully well air-conditioned) to our hotel.

We stayed in a hotel called 'Orka' and it was absolutely perfect and the staff were lovely and welcoming. One of the pools had a waterslide which provided us with lots of laughs. However, on the second day too much water got in my ear and I ended up with popped ears for the rest of the holiday.

Although we stayed half-board at our hotel we took advantage of the lively tourist resort we were in and made lots of trips to explore. My favourite places were 'Ayla' which we went to most days for ice creams and chips; 'Ramos Hotel' where we played lots of table-tennis and 'London Bar' where we were given Jenga to play with whilst having our drinks.

Before travelling to Turkey I had researched all of the things to do and one thing in particular caught my eye - riding a camel! It is something that I have always wanted to do but never had the opportunity. So on the Thursday of the first week, riding a camel is what we did! It was awesome, the camel I was on was a mischievous and kept trying to eat every single tree we passed but it was lovely to see the local area by camel.

The next few days were spent enjoying the hotel's facilities, relaxing and enjoying time in the sun and in the pool. Whilst we were away we bough a beach ball and a lilo and we had lots of fun with those having competition and lilo races!

The other day trip that we went on was the 'Jeep Safari' and all 6 of us went on this trip. This wasn't an animal safari but instead, we all went in a jeep and got to see some of the local sights and places near where we were staying. The jeep came to pick us up from our hotel at 8:30am and off we went. The first stop was a little bar/restaurant. At this restaurant there was flowing water from the top of the mountains so it was freezing cold. If you went in the little pond(?) for over 5 minutes you could get a free drink it was that cold. Obviously, none of us even attempted! However, we did pose for some nice photos with the waterfalls instead.

The next stop was Saklikent Gorge in Fethiye and it is one of the deepest canyons in the world - second deepest in Europe. Having no idea what to expect, I had gone in flip-flops. We were given the chance to walk through all the fast flowing water, Rob went for it but I didn't want to risk losing my shoes like other people had so I just admired the views and the rocks (can you tell I studied Geology at GCSE?).

The next place we visited was a natural mud bath and this was hilarious! There were definitely a few people who were apprehensive but once you'd made the initial jump into the mud it was brilliant. Probably the highlight of the day.

Once we had all got cleaned up in the nearby lake, it was time to get back in the Jeep ready for the last stop - THE BEACH!! A fantastic way to end a fantastic day.

After a fabulous two weeks away with the man I love and his family, it was so hard to say goodbye to everyone we had met and we weren't happy chappies about coming home.

See you again soon Turkey (hopefully)

The return of the blogger...

Well hello blogspot... it's been a while hasn't it?!
Just thought I would do a quick update and try and get myself back into a bit of blogging whilst everything is starting to die down before the summer begins. So, as it is nearly summer, here's my bucket list for the next few weeks:

1) Climb up Scafell Pike
- Climbing Scafell Pike is something that I have wanted to do for a while now. I had planned on doing it with Rob last year but that was back when I worked weekends so didn't have much time. However, I've tried roping in my dad to take me one day this summer so fingers crossed I manage to get it done this time round.

2) Camp out with friends
- A couple of weeks ago I got a few friends round and we all had a picnic/BBQ round at my house. It may have resulted in burnt sausage and having to bring duvets outside it turned that cold, but all in all it was a success and we had a good laugh. This summer though I want to take it one step further and make a night out of it and all camp in a tent together.

The best friends a girl could wish for
3) Visit a new place
- I'm extremely guilty of going to the same places over and over again. But this year I want to find somewhere new to make new experiences and new memories.

4) Visit an ice cream parlour
- There is an ice cream parlour relatively near to me that I have seen a lot of people have been to and honestly the ice creams look to die for. So visiting there and eating one of those ice creams is definitely on my to-do list this summer.

5) Have a picnic whilst the sun sets
- Yes, this sounds extremely cheesy but I absolutely love the outdoors and especially sun rises and sunsets. I did this a couple of years ago and it was honestly perfect so it's something I would love to do again with him!

Sunsets!

Top 10 of 2015

I thought that seen as it's the new year and everyone is looking forward to what 2016 might bring I would start the year with a round up of my top moments of 2015.

1) Getting into uni:
- After all the stress of A-Levels exams and coursework it was such a relief to get into my first choice university doing the course I have only dreamed of since I was tiny.

(From university of cumbria website)
2) Freshers week:
- I met the most amazing people and gelled with them straight away!

3) Rob's marathon:
- Never have I felt so much pride than when Rob finished the London Marathon hand-in-hand with Paula Radcliffe. Seeing him on the TV, in newspapers and hearing him on the radio afterwards made me so so proud and he even ended up in the Guardian newspaper on Boxing Day as one of their 'highlights of the year'. WHOOPEE GO ROB!

4) Prom night:
- There was no better way to finish of the school year than celebrating the end of exams with all my sixth form friends and teachers. Getting to party the night away with all my favourite people has definitely got to be one of my highlights.

5) Indoor Skydiving:
- Not going to lie, I have never been more scared in my life but oh my gosh what an amazing experience it was! I would honestly recommend indoor skydiving to anyone, the place Rob and I went to was incredible and so reassuring.

6) Family Holiday:
- This year I went to Barcelona with my mum and my sister and it was so nice to get away for a couple of days in summer. I had previously been to Barcelona on a day trip when I went on holiday with Salou with Rob but it was nice to be able to explore the city properly without too much time restrictions.

7) Holiday to Malta with Rob

- Once again I was lucky enough to go away with Rob for a week at the beginning of summer. This year we went to St Pauls Bay in Malta and it was beautiful - let's just ignore the parts where I got seasick on a cruise to Gozo and fainted due to dehydration...

8) Wesham Road Runners Presentation Evening
- This was the 3rd year that I was able to go to the running club's presentation evening and what a night it was. It was full of food, celebration and dancing, what more could you wish for? I admire every single one of the runners who are mad enough to train and compete rain or shine and often through blood, sweat and tears.

9) Cornwall
- I manged to get away again in the summer to Cornwall with Rob which was lovely. It was so chilled and relaxing having a little cottage in the middle of nowhere to escape and end the summer peacefully before I started university.

10) CHRISTMAS
- Christmas is always a highlight of my year. It's the time where everyone seems happier, the air is filled with children's excitement and families get together to celebrate.

It's safe to say that 2015 was one heck of a year and I hope that 2016 is equally as good :D

New Years Resolutions

Pretty much every year I haven't even bothered with New Years resolutions but this year I have quite a few, whether I will stick to them however is an entirely different subject so here goes:

1) Try not to abandon my blog again.
- I know most bloggers go through stages where they get writer's block or just don't have the time to blog every day but I want to write more because honestly, I've missed it, a lot!

2) Take more pictures.
- When I say take more pictures, I don't mean selfies because my camera roll is just full of them. I just mean documenting when I go to pretty places that I have visited and when memories are made.
Feeding the ducks at Ribby Hall Spa Village
3) Get into shape.
- This is probably the most common resolution ever but I want to give it 100% this time round. Whether that's eating healthier, going to the gym or just walking places instead of getting the bus, I am just determined to feel healthier and more confident in my body.

4) Try new foods.
- I am terrible when it comes to trying new foods, I just stick to chicken and pasta but I want to branch out and try at least two new foods a month. At least this will make it easier when trying to order food at a restaurant.
Tried sweet potato a few months ago and now I'm obsessed!
5) Save money.
- Not only am I terrible at trying new foods, I am also terrible at saving money. As soon as I get paid I spend my money on clothes, food, make up, bags etc. So this year round I want to put money aside and lock it away in a bank account or piggy bank that I can't touch so when it comes to wanting to buy a car or a house I have money stashed away ready.

6) Visit new places.
- Whether these places are local or not is irrelevant. I just want to explore new places and see the world. I already have a holiday booked to Turkey in the summer which is a place I have never visited before and in 2017 my sister and I are planning to go backpacking around Eastern Europe which should be fun.
Manchester - Barcelona: August 2015
7) Go on more dates.
- My boyfriend Rob and I used to go on proper dates all the time when we first started seeing each other but now we've stopped going out as much and just stay at each other's houses instead. However, this year we want to change that and are doing the alphabet dating challenge which I will definitely be blogging about. There are 26 letters in the alphabet and 52 weeks in the year. The idea is that every two weeks you do something beginning with the corresponding letter of  the alphabet. E.g. in the first two weeks of the year you do something beginning with 'A' such as going for afternoon tea or visiting an aquarium or art gallery. This something I want to last all year and keep on top of.

So there is definitely a lot to keep me busy in 2016. Anyone got any other New Year Resolutions they want to share then feel free to comment below :D
Happy 2016

Malta

Oops... it appears I haven't done a blog in a very VERY long time. Apologies for that, I either haven't been in a writing mood or I have been pretty flipping busy this holiday. I thought that after my exams had finished I would have had an awful lot of free time for blogs, blogs and even more blogs. But it just hasn't worked out that way.

I'm going to start off this blog talking about my trip to Malta which I actually set off on over a month ago, i'm just terrible at doing things on time. It was one of the most amazing holidays I have ever been on. I went with the wonderful Rob who made the trip brilliant and nearly saved my life...

I had no idea what to expect with Malta and no idea how busy/quiet the place we were staying (St Paul's Bay) would be. It actually turned out to be slap bang in the middle.. in the day it was pretty quiet and relaxing yet in the evening everything came alive and the hustle and bustle of the pubs and restaurants became evident.

The first day I was stupid.. I stayed in the sun far too long and didn't drink enough water. This resulted in me losing my vision and fainting whilst half way up a flight of stairs. Luckily though I'd warned Rob my vision was going blurry and he actually managed to catch me mid-faint so I escaped with nothing more than a little bump on my shin. Could have ended up a lot worse and resulted in the rest of the holiday not being as good!

We spent most of the holiday just relaxing in St Paul's Bay but took two day trips. One was to Valetta which is the capital city of Malta and it was good to see lots of English shops and wander round exploring. The second day trip was on a boat trip (hadn't realised I was sea-sick until that day when my stomach was bouncing all over the place) where we visited two small islands Gozo and Comino. Comino is home to a Blue Lagoon where the waters are perfectly clear and it was breathtaking. We were given enough time to go swimming in the Lagoon which for me was the holiday highlight.

After initially having no idea what to expect it became one of the best holidays of my life and I know that Rob and I will go back there one day. It was absolutely beautiful and the views were just insane. I will just leave you with a couple more pictures from our trip...

Fulwood Academy's Prom/Leavers' Do

This last Friday night saw my time at Fulwood Academy Sixth Form come to a close, and there was only one way to celebrate - a night out in town. Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that organised the prom night, especially the beautiful Charlotte and Jess - I know how stressful it has been but all your hard work paid off!

Our night started off in Glovers in Preston town centre. We had the place to ourself along with a DJ, bar, photographer and a buffet. It was so nice to just be able to party the night away with the people I have come some close to in the past 2 years. It was a great way to say goodbye although looking back, slightly emotional knowing it is the last time we will all be together. The night went totally according to plan and everything was just perfect. I had been quite worried that I would have been left disappointed because my expectations were so high, but the night couldn't have gone any better!

After the Leavers' party had finished I met up with Rob and his friends who were also in town celebrating his 25th birthday. It was lovely to meet up with all his friends again and join them in celebrating.

Anyway, leaving the blog post relatively short this time round because I am shattered, but I will leave you with a few photos..
